Speciality cook
You may obtain a visa as speciality cook with a full-time work contract in a speciality restaurant.
Specialty chefs must be citizens of the country whose cuisine the restaurant relies on.
The following documents have to be provided in original and one set of copies in English or German:
☐ Application form fully completed, duly signed
☐ Valid passport (issued within the last 10 years, the validity must exceed the duration of the visa by at least 3 months. The passport must have at least 2 blank pages)
☐ Passport size picture, not older than three months with a bright background and frontal view of the face (3,5x4,5cm). Digitally-altered passport pictures will not be accepted
☐ Romanian resident card, valid until the duration of the visa process
☐ Tabular CV
☐ Declaration regarding a contract of employment (Erklärung zum Beschäftigungsverhältnis), filled out by your employer
☐ Work contract signed by both parties mentioning monthly salary and weekly working hours
☐ Business description of the speciality restaurant in Germany incl. Menu
☐ Proof of successfully achieved vocational training as cook at a vocational school in your country of origin with a duration of at least 2 years
☐ Proof of at least two years of work experience as a cook in eligible establishments in the country of origin (after the achieved training)
☐ Health insurance
Please note that your statutory health insurance as an employee begins only once you take up residence in Germany and start working.
If you enter the country earlier, you must show a private health insurance with a coverage amount of at least 30,000 EUR until you start working.
☐ Visa fee 75 Euro – payable cash in Lei or by card in Euro (Visa / Master)
Please note that the Embassy reserves the right to ask for additional documents at any time during processing.
Submission of the above-mentioned documents does not guarantee that a visa is granted.
